New Works is a joint show between OSU MFA candidates Yuanyuan Lu and Jessie Horning.
In Lu's recent work, she utilizes the surface of ceramic forms as a space to deconstruct and reconstruct interpretations of traditional Chinese landscapes.
Horning's recent prints record moments in the life of a printmaking plate as it undergoes constant transformations. Over time, Horning enacts a system of actions and reactions upon the surface of each plate. These actions are inspired by the artist's interest in interactions between biological and mechanical systems as humans attempt to organize and quantify the "natural" world.
